SoJo Half Marathon

Back in October, I got this crazy idea to sign up to run a half marathon with my two of my bestest friends, Emily and Ariane, my brother Shane and my sister in law Emily.  I went into the race with absolutely no expectations other than to finish the race.  I did a 15K just a month earlier and survived.  I ran two long runs in between that race and this race, so I thought "hey, why not?"  Little did I know that 13.1 miles is FOREVER long!!!

Starting Line

Ariane
Finishing time 2:02:04

Emily
Finishing time 2:04:48

Shane and Em
Finishing time 2:06:39

The Caboose
But hey I survived another race!!!
Finishing time 2:17:58

I did it!  I cried crossing the finish line.  I was so emotional!  I was the last in the group to finish but I didn't care at all.  All I kept thinking was I just ran a half marathon and I didn't die:)  Not sure if I will ever run another one, but I did it this time! Now I just need to figure out how to get this skinny again... hmmm

Preschool Field Trip

Blakley had her field trip to the pumpkin patch.  The kids had fun picking out their own pumpkin, listening the Farmer Luke tell stories about farming and going on a tractor ride.  I really LOVE her preschool.  Even more important, she LOVES her preschool.  Ms. Hilary is the greatest!

Blakley's preschool classes with lots of siblings mixed in.

Carter had the day off of school and got to tag along with us!  He was acting a little too cool for school but secretly I think he loved being there:)

Blakley was in love with all of the animals.  She could have spent all of her time just petting the different animals and been in Heaven.

I love this little girl so much!! I am so sad that she will be going to kindergarten this fall.  What will I do with my mornings?!?!?

Elder Lindquist's Farewell

Oh my!  Oh my!  Oh my!  How is my little cousin Caden even old enough to go on a mission already?  Seriously!!! He shouldn't be this old.  He received his Mission call to Argentina back in the summer.  He had his farewell in the middle of October and left to the MTC shortly afterwards.

He did such a great job speaking at his farewell.  The spirit was very strong and you could just feel his excitement to go and serve the Lord.  He lives the Gospel to the fullest.  I am so glad that my boys have someone like him to look up to and to follow in his footsteps.

Here are some pics from his farewell:

Such a good lookin man!

Caders and his cute mom!

The Elder and his grandparents.
(My Uncle Bob and Aunt Jo)

Good Luck Elder Lindquist!  You're going to be an excellent missionary.  We love you very much!  See you in two (long) years!

Diamond Fork Hot Springs

Back in October, we went hiking with our good friends, Scoob, Rachel and Carlos.  They took us on an awesome hike.  A hike that my kids loved! yay! We hit the Diamond Fork (Fifth Water) Hot springs trail up Spanish Fork Canyon.  I usually don't like to hike with my kids because I don't like to hear them whine about getting tired (especially Blakley).  I usually leave the hiking to Clint and the boys.

The weather was perfect and the leaves were gorgeous!!

Blakley did get a little tired towards the top of the hike but lucky for her she had lots of adults that took turns holding her.  Spoiled Rotten!

Once we hiked to the top, we got to enjoy the hot springs.  The kids were in HEAVEN and didn't want to get out of the warm water.  I was so thankful that Scoob, Rachel and Carlos were smart enough to take their swimsuits because Clint and I spaced packing ours;)

I am so thankful for friends that love the outdoors and invite us to go places with them.  I swear if it was up to Clint and I, we would become couch potatoes and never leave the house.  BORING!

My first 15K

I did it!
I ran my first 15K!
I ran 9.3 miles.
Are you kidding me??? Up until this day, I had never ran more than 6 miles.  I signed up hoping that I could convince my friends to run it with me.  No luck!  I was so glad that I went through with it anyway.

It was so fun to turn this last corner and see my family standing there cheering me on.  I got tears in my eyes just seeing them with huge smiles on their faces.  I really could have sat down and cried my heart was so full, but I pushed on and finished.

Troy ran the last few feet and crossed the line with me!

My biggest fans! Tanner slept over at my parents house the night before the race and didn't get up in time to come with them.  Thanks kiddos for all the cheers!  Forever grateful for my family.  xoxo

Little Miss Starts Preschool

My little girl started preschool in September.  I cannot believe that Blakley is old enough already.  Time goes by way way way too fast.  She goes three days a week and really wishes that it was everyday.  She really likes preschool and LOVES her teacher, Ms. Hilary.  We went shopping together and bought her 3 or 4 new outfits for school.  She choose this one for the first day of school.  "Mom, I like yellow shirts on me! Do you like it?"  Of course I do sweet heart:)  She's darling in everything!

I love the tattoos that she sported on her arms! I promise you I bathe her.  They just wouldn't come off.

She is so lucky that she gets to go with her cousin, Bentley.  She always has a friend with her:)

Ms. Hilary
They hardly love her:)

Pajama Day at school!  Of course, Blakley begged me to take her to the store and buy a new pair of pjs.  She wanted sparkles on her shirt.  She fell in love with this pair.  Still one of her favorite pairs.

Bobcat Man!

Awhile ago, Carter earned his Bobcat in cub scouts.  We missed a couple pack meetings because of vacations/baseball tournaments, so he wasn't able to get it till the end of summer.  He had the privilege of wearing the Bobcat mask at the pack meeting in August.  Way to go Buddy!  I love that we came right from a baseball game so he didn't have his scout uniform on.

Looking at these pictures make me want to go back in time.  Back when it was warm.  Back when we had baseball games to go see. I LOVE BASEBALL GAMES.  Back when our skin glowed with tans.  Oh boy do I miss summertime.

When the cub scouts earn their awards, the boys get to give their moms a pin to wear.  Because lets be honest....What little boy can get far in scouts without their mom pushing them along the way:)

I love this little guy of mine!

2013-2014 School Year Begins

Yes I am blogging to keep a journal for my family.
Yes I am MONTHS and MONTHS behind.
Yes I am trying to catch up.
Yes I stink at it.
Yes I will keep trying:)

Here my some pictures of the first day of school.
Tanner
My big 7th grade man

Troy
My 4th grade stud

Carter
My 3rd grade allstar

My handsome devils!
Don't mind the funny smiles on Troy and Carter.  They were both missing one of their front teeth and didn't want to show it.  Funny thing is they each were missing the opposite tooth from each other.  Troy was missing his right front tooth.  Carter was missing his left front tooth. haha!

I love these boys more than anything.  My kids mean the world to me.  My heart is filled with love whenever I look at pictures of them. xoxo
