My little Man Starts 2nd Grade!

Today is an exciting time for Tanner. He started 2nd grade today. He is growing up so fast and yet he will always be my baby. When we got to school today, his principal was there to greet us. She told me to send Tanner off to the second grade playground and his teacher will be able to find him. Tanner not knowing who or what his teacher looks like, grabbed my hand and asked if I would stay with him. I walked him to his class room after the bell rang. He was ok after we got there because one of his good friends from last year was in his class. And his teacher seems like a really nice teacher. So I was ok about leaving him there.

It's scary how fast life seems to be racing by. Last night when Tanner was getting ready for bed, he asked if I would come lay with him. I told I would be up in a minute, I was trying to get all the last minute things together that he needed for today. Luckily he was still up when I got in his room, so I laid down with him. He turned to me and said "Mom, I wish I could make a robot of you so you would always be with me. I know you are busy, but I love you being with me." I looked at him and with tears in my eyes and told him I loved him very much. Next thing I knew, Clint had come in to lay down with us. Needless to say Tanner went to bed with a smile on his face. When I was waking him up today he was saying he couldn't believe how lucky he was to have mom and dad sleep with him last night. What a sweetheart my little boy is. I am so proud to be his mom. I love you Tanner!

Utah Lake, Here we come!

Yes, it's true! We finally decided to take the family boat out of storage after two years of not being used. We went down to Utah Lake for the day and had a blast. It was really hot outside and the water temperature was perfect!

We even got Grandma and Papa on the tube with the kids!

The lake is so big, that once you are on it you rarely saw another boat. Papa taught Tanner how to drive the boat.

Carter's favorite thing to do on the boat was wave the flag when anyone fell off the tube and eat beef jerky!

By the end of the day, the boys were pooped out! Carter and Troy took a little snooze on the boat.
We were on our way home when it started to rain. Do we have PERFECT TIMING or what?

Go Skin!

Last night, Tanner wanted his dad to shave his head to look more like an Army Man (we are kind of obsessed here). So Clint took him outside and shaved his hair off, which lead to Carter's head and finally Troy's. I have seen Tanner and Troy with shaved heads before, but never Carter. To tell you the truth I was all teary eyed watching his hair fall to the floor. I had to save some of his curls in a baggie.

Bentley Cody Hofhine

Baby Bentley arrives!

Finally the day is here, Wends! And of course you are lookin' great.

What a special moment between a daddy and his son.

What a darling family!

One Happy Grandpa!

Bentley finally arrived and only one day before his due date. Wendy delivered him natural with help from the Hypno birth techniques that her and Cody have been learning. She had about a six hour labor. Lucky! Her doctor and the nurse at the hospital told Wendy that she did such a great job that she should have her own book out. What a compliment!

Bentley weighed 8 lbs. 10 oz. and was 21 inches long. He was born with so much hair, you would think he had a wig on. What a cutie!

We are so excited to have two new nephews in our family. My parents now have a total of six grandsons. We have our basketball team.

Timpanogos Cave

Clint and I decided to take the boys on an adventure on Saturday. We woke the boys up, got them ready, went to Walmart (which that is an experience all by itself) then headed up the canyons. We wanted to take the boys up to the Timpanogos Cave. We got there about 12:45 and the next hike time up there was at 2:30. We had a some time to kill. We didn't want the boys to get pooped out before we went up, so we had a picnic and threw rocks into the river.

Look how excited they are to go on a hike! They have no idea what to expect.

Look we're not sweaty yet :)

Notice only one of the kids are smiling. Hiking isn't as much fun as they thought it was going to be.

Surprisingly, Tanner made it too the top with no problem. Troy made it with a little help from dad by holding his hand and pulling him. And then there was Carter, he got about 1/4 of the way and then was asking me to hold him. Clint really wanted the kids to make it as long as they could without being carried, so smarty pants Carter would start to walk slow so Clint would get out of his sight and then turn to me and ask "Now can you hold me". How can you say no to him?

As soon as we got inside the cave Carter fell sound asleep and missed all but the last little bit. Then we had the hike down, Tanner and Carter wanted to run down the hill. Troy on the other hand wanted to be carried the whole way down. He cried about being tired, having a tummy ache, and being hot. So we told him if he could make it half way then we would carry him the last half. And then of course when that happened, Carter wanted to be carried. Needless to say Clint and I both ended up carrying one down. Tanner is the winner of the day!

Heather~ I was right, the way I felt yesterday and today it feels like I have had a double workout. YUCK! I am getting old. My thighs, hips and calves hurt from hiking.

SWIMMING!

Today we were invited to go swimming with my sister-in-law Kim and her kids at their neighborhood pool. We had the whole pool to ourselves, so the boys could do whatever they wanted without bugging anyone. We had so much fun. Thanks Kim for inviting us, we will have to do it again really soon.

Tanner and his cousin Tristin having fun in the pool!

Aunt Kimmi teaching Troy to swim.

Carter loves to watch his Uncle Cody train their dog, Chief. Cody has trained his dog to fetch sticks kind of like the ones in Carter's mouth. Well today, Carter thought it would be fun to be Chief. This is him fetching the sticks. He would bring them to you and tell you to tell him to "Sit" and then throw them in the water again and he would jump in and get them. I'm just glad he has stopped licking me like he was a dog.

Carter loved Jessica jumping in with him.

After swimming a little over 3 hours today, I decided it was time to come home. I put the kids in the car and started to drive home. We made it all of 3 blocks and this is what happened to the boys. What a peaceful ride home!

Benson Patrick Hofhine

Baby Benson Arrives!

Proud Mother (Looking good as always)

Brooks holding his baby brother for the first time. When he was done holding him, he turned to his mom and asked where the baby was going to live. Oh what a fun time they are going to have with two boys.

What a cute family! All they need is one more boy like us.

Such Happy Grandmas!

Tanner even got to hold Benson today!

Benson came into this world weighing 8 lbs. 2 oz. and he is 20 inches long. My mom, Tanner, Cory (Emily's mom) and I were all waiting at the hospital for him to arrive. We were so excited when we could finally go into the room to see them. Even though Emily had a hard delivery, she was still looking as cute as ever. (Hate Her) Remember Em, if you ever need some rest I would love to come over a hold him for you. (Maybe that would help me get over being baby hungry)

If only Bentley could arrive one of these days. Wendy, can you get on that? Benson and Bentley what cute names for my cute nephews. Wonder if we will confuse their names when they get older. Nah!
