Farewell For Now!

The day after Jessica was set apart, we got to spend the morning with her and her family.  We met up at Kneaders for some yummy breakfast and then headed off to the Provo Temple grounds which is just across the street from the MTC.  We spent a few hours there talking and taking pictures.  It was so fun and yet surreal to spend the last couple of hours with her before she heads off to Ohio for 18 months!  Gosh we miss her so much!

Isn't she just the cutest missionary!

This tree is really special to us!  As we were walking around the temple grounds we came upon the tree.  We told her that we were going to hug this tree and think of her when we did.  We told her that we would send her pictures of us doing so throughout her mission.  I mean a tree is almost as good as hugging her right?!?!? ;) When she gets back, we are going to meet up at this tree and take more pictures together :)

We LOVE you Jess!!!
See you in 18 months!

A Night to Remember!

The night of Jessica's setting apart as a missionary was definitely a night I hope never to forget.  She invited her family and some of her closest friends to her house that night.  Her Stake President and her Bishop were the ones conducting the setting apart.  Her Bishop said a few sweet words about Jessica.  He and his wife are such great people.  They have ALWAYS been there for Jessica and Tristin.  I know that they have a big part in Jessica wanting to serve the Lord by serving a mission.  He then asked if anyone want to share their testimony with her.  I'm pretty most of the people there got up to say a little something.  I wish I would have bore my testimony at the beginning of the night because by the end of the night I was bawling and couldn't talk even though I wanted too.  After everyone had a chance to speak, her Stake President asked Jessica to bear her testimony.  He finished by saying a few words of advice before giving her the most beautiful blessing.  The spirit we all felt that night was so strong.  I know that she is going to be a great Missionary.  She is going to bring so much joy into the lives of those that will listen to the message she will be sharing.

Sister Christensen

My darling niece Jessica had her farewell in November!  She did a fantastic job on her talk.  She's a natural when it comes to speaking in front of people.  Her mom would be so proud of her.  I'm sure she was looking down from Heaven with a huge smile on her face :)  She had lots of people there to fill the benches in the church. Her house afterwards was filled to the brim with friends and family!  Everyone just LOVES this girl so much.

Elder Lindquist's Farewell

Oh my!  Oh my!  Oh my!  How is my little cousin Caden even old enough to go on a mission already?  Seriously!!! He shouldn't be this old.  He received his Mission call to Argentina back in the summer.  He had his farewell in the middle of October and left to the MTC shortly afterwards.

He did such a great job speaking at his farewell.  The spirit was very strong and you could just feel his excitement to go and serve the Lord.  He lives the Gospel to the fullest.  I am so glad that my boys have someone like him to look up to and to follow in his footsteps.

Here are some pics from his farewell:
