January 2014

Yay! Yay! Yay!
I'm finally blogging about 2014!
Our year started off with a bang...

New Years Eve
We only had two of our kids with us this year:(  Carter and Tanner got invited to a mini vacation with their friends at a hotel.  Troy and Blakley got to choose what we got to do.  Decorating GIANT gingerbread men was the top of their list.  Followed by games and fireworks!  Lela and Moe stayed the night with us.

I went in for my yearly MRI on my brain.  I'm really wanting to get off of my anti-seizure medicine.  Hopefully 2014 is the year to do it.
But first...Let me take a selfie;)

My poor little grandpa fell and broke his foot:(

On the same day that my grandpa broke his foot, Clint was showing off his mad skills at Airborne and ended up breaking his finger:(

After seeing a specialist, they decided that he needed to have surgery to place a pin in it.

We celebrated my dad's 64th birthday!
Can hardly tell how much the kids love him?!?

Blakley started tumbling!
She is LOVIN it!

Ms. Ariane is the BEST teacher!

Tanner had his 7th grade science fair. Can you guess what the topic is??? Basketball! "How Does Air Pressure Inside a Basketball Affect its Bounce Height" to be exact:)

Crazy, busy, fun month!

AWWWW!

Clint had his knee operated on this morning.
The doctor scoped out all of the torn cartilage out of his left knee.

The nurse came in and had to shave his leg.
SEXY!

When Clint was waking up from the surgery, he was quite the comedian.

"Everyone should have surgery."
"I feel gggggggreat."
"Wow, I feel good."

When we got home, he bribed Tanner to shave his other leg to match.
Nice Legs Babe!

Hope you get feeling better soon!
Love you babe

My Poor Boys

Tanner and Carter both had their tonsils and adenoids taken out last Friday. Since the same doctor did both of their surgeries they had to take turns. Tanner decided that he would go first and get it over with. Funny thing is: he was excited to have surgery. He may feel different now that it is over with and he is left with a sore throat:)

Carter was a little scared in the morning, but the longer we were at the hospital the more relaxed he was. He let us take tons of pictures of him:)

Here is Tanner just minutes after waking up. He was trying hard not to cry. He said that he wasn't in pain, but that he felt funny. I can't believe I got him to smile:)

Here is Carter just after waking up. This little boy was trying so hard to be brave and cried for just a few minutes. Then he realized that he could watch cartoons and everything was great:)

They were lucky enough to share a room!

They both are doing so well. Carter has completely bounced back and we have to keep reminding him to take it easy. Tanner on the other hand is having a little harder time. He is asking for his pain meds every 6 hours and really hasn't left the couch. We have watched a lot of movies and have had tons of Popsicles around here. Hopefully in a few days they will both be well enough to go do something fun! I love you boys!

Today, Blakley got her tubes in her ears. The day started out early for us. She woke up with all smiles at 6:00 (normally its about 8:00). We got ready and headed up to the hospital. She was scheduled for surgery at 9:15 am. I was so worried that she would be cranky because she couldn't have anything to eat after midnight last night, but she was great!
I know it looks like she is about to cry in this picture, but really she is just about to do her "ewww" face. It's a face that she pulls when she discovers something cool!

I love this picture!!
She was laughing trying to pull on her ankle band.
FUNNY GIRL

After the surgery was over the doctor came and got us and took us back to the recovery room. We were only there a few minutes before she woke up smiling and waving her arms in the air. She was so HAPPY! The nurse said that this is so uncommon. Most kids wake up super grouchy. Not Blakley Girl! I have no doubt that she did remarkably well because of the sweet priesthood blessing that her daddy gave her last night. Thanks Babe!

She loved her sippy with apple juice:)

Some of the tiles on the ceiling had paintings on them.
She loved looking and pointing at them.

She slept all the way home. When we got home she had a few bites to eat then whined to go back to bed.
Sweet Dreams Sweet Girl!

I so hope this will put an end to her constant ear infections.
Poor Girl!
