Park City Marathon

26.2 MILES

My philosophy
Driving it: no problem.
Running it: NO WAY IN HELL!
I'm not sure why people like to run that many miles at one time.  But I sure do admire those that can.

Clint's philosophy
Why drive it why you can run it!

It has been so fun supporting Clint on all of his marathons.  There is nothing like standing at the finish line cheering the runners on.  I get teary eyed every race.  Rather it be watching the ones struggling to get to the finish line or the ones who look around the crowd for their cheerleaders and their eyes light up when they finally find them. And of course every time I see Clint coming towards the line.  I am so proud of him! I know that marathons aren't easy but he just seems to make them look like they are.

Finish Time: 4:01:31

School Starting Already???

Can I just tell you how excited I was for all three of my boys to be in the same school this year.  We have been doing two schools for the past two years.  Two different schedules, two different starting times, two different ending times, one year around, one traditional, one has early days, one does not, one has a dress code, no does not... EXHAUSTING!  Well no more!!! All three of my boys are in the same Charter School and we couldn't be more happy!  We have loved this school since day one.

Tanner
My big 6th grader

Troy
My big 3rd grader

Carter
My big 2nd grader

I was so nervous for Tanner to start a new school for his 6th grade year but he seems to be loving it.  He realized that he knew some of the kids already either from the neighborhood or sports that he has done.  It made it that much easier to adjust.  And I can't say enough good things about his two teachers.  They are AMAZING!  They have completely made Tanner feel welcome there.

Tanner getting accepted into this school has been an answer to so many of our prayers.  I remember the day I received the phone call from the cute secretary telling me that Tanner had been accepted to go there next school.  I was driving in my car and literally had to pull over because I was sobbing so hard.  We have wanted to get him in with his brothers so bad.  This is his year!

Good Luck Boys!
May you cram your brains with lots and lots of much needed knowledge.  We love you so much!

Once Upon a Trip to Bear Lake......

My mom's cute cousin, DeAnn invited our family up to Bear Lake with her family.  After a very rocky start (she rolled her trailer pulling it up Parley's Canyon) we all made it there safe.  We are so thankful that no one was hurt in the accident.  Miracles really do happen:)

On our first day, we spent it playing on the beach and making sandcastles.  The kids had a blast hanging out with Grandpa Tom all day.  He really is just a big kid at heart.  I'm not sure who had the most fun... him or them!

Clint lathering himself up with sunscreen. Think he has enough???

A trip into town for some famous raspberry shakes.
A MUST!

We did lots and lots of boating.

All three of my boys tried wake boarding this year.  It was so fun to see them all get up.

  And lots of tubing....

My only complaint was the stupid mosquitoes.  I think we all came home with lots of bites. Poor Carter got bit on the arm and it swelled up and itched like crazy.  Poor dude!

Look at the size of that bump...

After a night of rough winds and big waves, our boat was pushed in shore a little too far and we couldn't have gotten it out without the help of this tractor.  We were so grateful these men came along.

Every night this little creature and his friends would make their way through our campground. They freaked us out!  We were told that the skunks make the same path around the campgrounds every night.  They usually don't bother anyone but with our luck one of them would probably spray us if we got any closer. (I took this picture while standing on top of the picnic table.)

While we were cleaning up and getting ready to leave, Clint and Blakley climbed on top of the trailer.  She was so excited to be so high up.  Funny Girl!

 Wait a minute......
Was my mom there that trip????
Oh there she is! Glad we got at least one picture:)
Thanks for hiding behind the screen door mom. Silly Girl!

We had such a great time up there.  I really hope that we make it an annual trip with the fam. Love them all so much!  We really missed Cody and Wendy's Family though.  Maybe next year:)

Working Time

Tanner is growing up WAY too fast!  Seriously!!!  Where did my little boy go??? I swear he was just born not to long ago.  And now look at him.  Time is flying by and I'm not so sure I am liking it.

During the summer, we have given all of our kids daily and weekly chores that they had to do.  Tanner's weekly chores have included mowing the front and back yards. Which he is now a PRO! But recently he has learned how to trim the yards as well.  He has picked up on it really fast and does a good job.  I am so surprised (shocked really) that he doesn't complain when we ask him to do it.  Another fact that he is growing up....

The other day, one of our neighbors stopped by and told Tan that he does a really good job on our yard.  He also said that he would love to hire him to do his yard next year.  Tanner was beaming when he came inside to tell us.  He now has big plans to have people hire him for yard work next summer.  Yay! Maybe I can get him to make enough money to pay for all our fun plans next summer! lol

It's hard work doing both yards in the HOT summer!
He's a Trooper though!

Now Tanner stop growing up so stinkin fast! Will ya?

Cub Scout Camp

Troy has been counting down the days/years till he could go to scout camp.  Tanner has gone for the last couple of years and had a blast.  He would come home and tell the other boys all about it and they would  get so excited  and couldn't wait till they could go.  Well, this year was Troy's year.  Carter gets to go next year!!!

Troy was lucky enough to have his daddy-o tag along with him!  I know that Troy LOVES having one on one time with his dad.

Look at the guy in the corner of the picture.  He looks terrified.  I love the expression on the his face!!  Guess Troy was kind of crazy with the bow shooting:)

These boys came home soooo dirty but they had HUGE smiles on their faces:)
