It was such a great day to share with our family and friends.
To help prepare for the big day, we had a list of things to do.
1st on the list: Missionary Discussion
Our good friends invited us (along with some of the other kids getting baptized) over to their house to listen to the missionaries talk about the importance of Baptism. Even though we go to church and my kids have learned about getting baptized, there is something special when they get to hear it from the missionaries. The Elders had a really neat object lesson planned to go along with it. I think the kids really enjoyed it.
2nd on the list: Pictures
My cute friend, Tori took Troy's pictures for us. She is amazing and has such a eye for it! We love her. We lucked out with an awesome day with great weather to take pictures! Thanks Tori!
He was all smiles that day! What a cutie pie!
Choose the Right
3rd on the list: Get "Troy's table" ready for church entrance.
Simple I know. But it worked. We had all of guests sign the pages for his scrapbook. I hope he will cherish these pages with his friends and family's names on them in his years to come.
4th on the list: Ask Troy who he wants to say a talk.
Troy got to choose someone from our family to give a talk about the Holy Ghost He chose his Aunt Wendy! She was so sweet to accept and did an AWESOME job. She kept a great job keeping all of the kids attention. That's hard to do when you have that many kids in a room. I could see a future Primary President here:)
When the big day came we were ready!
I am so proud of my little boy's decision to be baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I hope that Troy will always remember this special day and the feelings he had. I remember the day of my baptism. I was lucky enough to be baptized on my 8th birthday. Easy way to remember the date! I love you Troy!
