Honest Scrap Award

My little ol' blog has won itself an award. I can hardly believe it!!

The award is "Honest Scrap"

The rules of the award are :

1. Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design
2.Show the 7 winners names and links on your blog, and leave a comment informing them that they were prized with "Honest Scrap." Well, there is no prize but it is fun!
3.List 10 honest things about yourself.

Ten Honest things about me....

1. I LOVE my family more than anything! (Troy is sitting here with me and I just asked him tell me something about me. He says: "You're pretty, You're nice, and I love you." Who wouldn't love to have kids to hear those responses!)

2. No matter how warm it is, I have to sleep with a blanket. I also love wearing socks to bed.

3. I love finding good deals!! When I walk into a store, I always looks for their clearance section. Sometimes I find myself buying things just because it is a good deal. I think I am alot like my great grandma that way. She had a room full of stuff that she would find good deals on.

4. I love being able to stay home with my kids, however I look forward to my date night or my girls night out!

5. I am scared for my kids to get any older. There are so many bad things in the world: drugs, alcohol, peer pressure, sex, abuse. I don't want my kids to have to deal with any of it. Can't their stay younger and innocent forever.

6. After three boys, I am a little scared to have a girl. Life around here is about to change! What is life going to be like with 4 kids?

7. I LOVE cookies!

8. I love to blog! If I had a better camera, I would be taking lots of pictures and posting all the time. Good thing I don't huh?

9. I met Clint when I was in high school. We worked together at good ol' RC Willey. We dated for three years before getting married and will be married 10 years this May! I lOVE Him!

10. I am having a hard time believing that I am going to be 30 this year! Can I really be that old?

I tag: Wendy, Emily, Martha, Adri, Angie, Steph, DeAnn
Good Luck Guys and Congrats!

Yesterday, my boys wanted to go snowboarding/sledding at the park across from our house. Even though the hill only has about a 15 ft. stretch of snow left, they still had a blast! I loved watching them giggle as they went down the hill.
The weather was perfect! I am soooo ready for the warmer weather.

I kept catching Carter eating the snow. YUCK!

Yesterday, was my Aunt Lisa's birthday. She passed away 5 years ago this February. She would have turned 50 years old. She loved birthday parties, especially her own! So my mom, my boys and I, along with my Uncle Bob and Aunt Jo went to the cemetery where she is buried with some balloons and some flowers.

We all got to let go of a balloon and say "Happy Birthday." Carter and Troy were really excited to let a balloon go up to Heaven for Lisa! We watched the balloons till we couldn't see them no longer. At one time the balloons made a "L" formation in the sky. We all joked that it was Lisa's way of saying thank you!

And a special Thanks for that someone out there who sent these flowers to my sweet grandma and for thinking of her on this day! They are beautiful!

We miss Lisa dearly and think of her often.
We love you Lee!

It's Easter in January!

The other night, Tanner told the boys that if they went to bed right away the Eater Bunny would come and hide eggs around the house. I pulled Tanner aside and told him that it wasn't Easter yet, so he couldn't say that to them. He turned to me and said "Don't worry, Mom." And then he jumped in bed with the other two.

About 20 minutes later, Tanner came out of his room and said "Mom, the boys are asleep." He then got a bucket of plastic eggs that he found in the basement earlier that day and started to fill them with all of the leftover Christmas candy that we had. He excitedly hid the eggs throughout the house and then went to bed.

The next morning, he woke the boys up and told them that the Easter Bunny had come and left eggs for them to find. He was so excited following them around and watching them open the eggs.

Tanner is such a sweet older brother. I am very glad that Troy and Carter have such a great brother to look up to. I love my little dude!

Two down, Many to go!

Tanner lost his 2nd tooth last night!! It has been loose for a little while now and he was too scared to pull it out. Well, last night he finally found the courage to pull it out. GO TANNER!

While he was getting ready for bed he scrubbed the tooth with his toothbrush, so the tooth fairy wouldn't have to touch a dirty tooth. (He is such a clean freak, just like his mom! HEHEHE) Then he fell asleep without putting it under his pillow. Maybe tonight he can get some $$$$

Swimming Lessons

For the last couple of weeks, Tanner and Troy have been in swimming lessons with their friend Jackson. My boys love being little fish in the water. I asked Carter if he wanted to sign up, but he just said "I'm fine." He loves watching from the side with me.

Christmas Time

Christmas has come and gone in this house without me blogging about a thing. Where has all of the time gone. We are ready for life to slow down a little and get back to normal.

We have wonderful families that we were able to spend the holidays with and we are very thankful for them. We have so much to be grateful for: family being at the top of the list. We love them dearly.
And once again my family was spoiled by them. Thanks guys!

This year, Clint and I wanted to teach our kids the importance of service for others especially at this time of year. We told them that Santa needed help this year and that he was asking us to help. We, along with Clint's mom, sister and brother and their families, decided to do Sub-for-Santa for a family in need. I went to Tanner's school to talk to the Principal and see if she knew of anyone that needed some help this year.
She said she usually doesn't get names but that just that morning she had a mom call in asking for help for her two daughters. What a blessing I walked into. I called and talked to this mom and could not make it through the conversation without sobbing. She said that their family is usually the one helping others, but this year they were barely surviving. When I hung up the phone, I couldn't help but think "This could be us". Which I then just prayed thanking Heavenly Father for everything that we have and that we are able to help this family out this year.

All of us got together for Family Home Evening on the Sunday before Christmas and wrapped all of the gifts. Clint and I ende
d up packing up the kids in the car on Christmas Eve and leaving gifts on this family's doorstep. I hope the little that we were able to do for this family helped make their holidays good. I know this sure helped ours.

Here are our silly boys on Christmas morning:

Troy Da Boy

Carter (aka Bob the Builder)
