Christmas Time

Christmas has come and gone in this house without me blogging about a thing. Where has all of the time gone. We are ready for life to slow down a little and get back to normal.

We have wonderful families that we were able to spend the holidays with and we are very thankful for them. We have so much to be grateful for: family being at the top of the list. We love them dearly.
And once again my family was spoiled by them. Thanks guys!

This year, Clint and I wanted to teach our kids the importance of service for others especially at this time of year. We told them that Santa needed help this year and that he was asking us to help. We, along with Clint's mom, sister and brother and their families, decided to do Sub-for-Santa for a family in need. I went to Tanner's school to talk to the Principal and see if she knew of anyone that needed some help this year.
She said she usually doesn't get names but that just that morning she had a mom call in asking for help for her two daughters. What a blessing I walked into. I called and talked to this mom and could not make it through the conversation without sobbing. She said that their family is usually the one helping others, but this year they were barely surviving. When I hung up the phone, I couldn't help but think "This could be us". Which I then just prayed thanking Heavenly Father for everything that we have and that we are able to help this family out this year.

All of us got together for Family Home Evening on the Sunday before Christmas and wrapped all of the gifts. Clint and I ende
d up packing up the kids in the car on Christmas Eve and leaving gifts on this family's doorstep. I hope the little that we were able to do for this family helped make their holidays good. I know this sure helped ours.

Here are our silly boys on Christmas morning:

Tanner (aka Army Dude)

Troy Da Boy

Carter (aka Bob the Builder)

Forgotten Carols

For the past fifteen years or so, my family has made it a tradition to go to Michael McLean's Forgotten Carols. Once again it was awesome. This year Tanner was excited to go with us. You can tell by the smile on his face. He said that he wanted to dress up nice in his black sports coat, just in case anyone saw him there.

Thanks Kim for watching Carter and Troy for us.
They had a fun time with you and your family.

My sweet little man

This morning I woke up to this:

Tanner made me breakfast. He was on his way upstairs with food when I woke up. What a sweet little man I have. He said since I always make him breakfast, today he wanted to return the favor. He was so excited that he was beaming. Thanks Tanner. Mommy loves you.

Christmas is in the Air!

For Family Home Evening this week, I wanted to put up our Christmas Tree and have the boys help decorate it. So Sunday night, Clint and the boys set it up. Then, Clint put all the lights on it.

Thanks hun! Sorry it took so long. We probably should have got the pre-lit tree.

I love this picture!
Look at Troy in the background singing his heart out to Winnie the Pooh!

Carter fell sound asleep watching his daddy do the lights.

My house is ready for Christmas. . . . .now if only my shopping was done or even started!

Fathers and Sons

This year our ward went down to the sand dunes for the Fathers and Sons outing. My boys at the last minute decided to go and boy did they have fun! My dad packed up the 5th wheel and the wheelers and they left for the night.

Clint and Bret packed up all the kids and went for a ride.

Carter loved being buried in the sand!

Clint saw the kids on the top of the hill and thought "Shari would love to blog this" so he took a picture for me.

Then Tanner came up with the idea to take the dads picture.
Thanks buddy!

It was fun to have a little break from the kids. Hil and I ate dinner at Litza's, had some bad pedicures, got up early Sat. morning and went shopping and then out to breakfast.
Thanks Hil for hanging out.

Halloween Time

My two cute sister-in-laws and I took the kids up to Daybreak to get their Halloween pictures taken.
This is one of my favorites!
Troy (Darth Vader) Carter (Bob the Builder)
Brooks (Spiderman)
Bentley (Horse) Tanner (Pirate) Benson (Pirate)

The flu bug has made its way through my house this past week. Troy was sick Monday, Carter was sick Tuesday/Wednesday and it hit Tanner last night (Halloween) of all nights. We took the kids out Trick-or-Treating and made it one and a half streets before he wanted to go home because he wasn't feeling well. My sweet Hubby took care of him all night and let me sleep. Thanks so much Clintie!
I hope Tanner feels better soon.
