Carter's Preschool

Carter started his 2nd year of preschool!

What a little Stud Muffin!

His first day of school went a little like this: He wakes up as happy as can be, SUPER EXCITED to start school. He asks if he can put on his new school clothes, which I have been promising him since his older brothers school started a month ago. I pull out the bag from my closet and there is not one thing in his size. NOTHING! What how can this be??? I swear I bought him school clothes. LOSER MOM with a capital L! I frantically start thinking how we can pull this off. I remember that he got a shirt a bit ago that he hasn't worn yet. I pulled it out and put it on him. Smile on his face :) Phew flew under that radar.

Next he asked if he could see his backpack. Again I go pale, did I forget to get this poor kid a backpack too? Seriously what is my problem? Luckily I found one that Tanner had used when he was in preschool that has been put away and Carter loved it. Phew once again I pulled it off.

The last thing to do before he could go was put on his new shoes. This I did remember to buy, unfortunately he did not like the shoes. More like hated them. And now the tears starts. He marches up to his room sadly and lays on his bed. While he is up there, he is looking out the window (his preschool is across the street from our house) and notices that the morning class is over and going home. He thinks it is his class and starts bawling. I go upstairs to talk to him and explain that it is not his class, but he just keeps saying "You made me miss my school". I finally get him calmed down enough to try to find some other shoes that will put a smile on his face. Nothing will do. I try to think fast, School will be starting in 10 mins. I run to my sister-in-law's and ask if I can borrow some of Brooks's shoes. Carter got to pick out a pair he liked and we ran out the door. Poor Kid! What a way to start your first day of Preschool.

I am proud to say that while he was at school that day, I went out and purchased him a new backpack and some new shirts. I laid them out on his bed for him to find when he got home. At least we ended that day on a good note:)

Oh... the struggles of having four kids and clothing them all. Poor little guy. Good thing you didn't really make him miss school! LOL

I feel so... lucky that Hayden is so easy going about stuff like that. I didn't get him a new pair of shoes for school. He has three pair of sneakers that still fit, why buy another pair?
